
The British Association for the Study of the Liver is dedicated to the knowledge and understanding of the biology and pathology of the liver. BASL members are composed of both scientists and clinicians interested in liver physiology and pathophysiology, as well as members from the pharmaceutical industry.

NOTE FOR YOUR DIARY: This years annual meeting of the British Association of the Study of the Liver and BASL nurses forum will be held in the Royal College of Phgysicians, Edinburgh on the 10th to 12th of September 2008. Further information regarding the 2008 meeting in Edinburgh is available on the annual meeting page.
Submission of abstract for the 2008 annual meeting of the British Association of the Study of the Liver has closed and decisions regards Abstract acceptance will be posted during week of 14th july.
The meeting includes the symposia on Alcohol and the Liver, Liver transplantation and Viral hepatitis, and a Basic Science Workshop; where national and internationally recognised experts will be presenting. Extensive time is also scheduled for oral free papers and poster presentations. A research highlight will be the presentation of the Sheila Sherlock Research Prize 2008.
