Annual Meetings

Next Year's Annual conference will be held at the
Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh
8-10 September 2010

This year's annual meeting of the British Association of the Study of the Liver and BASL Nurses Forum was held at Imperial College, London. The local organiser was Professor Rajiv Jalan, BASL Secretary.

The BASL meeting was held 9-11 September 2009. The conference dinner was held at the House of Commons on the evening of Thursday 10 September.

Day 1 featured symposia on "Liver transplantation" and "Vascular dysfunction and benign liver tumours". The opening day of the meeting also feature the Williams Calne lecture, this year given by Professor Geoffrey McCaughan, Director of the A W Morrow Gastroenterology and Liver Centre at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, Australia.

Day 2 featured the Viral symposium - New drugs for viral hepatitis and the British Liver Trust Lecture given by Dr Jenny Heathcote, Head of Patient Based Clinical Research, Toronto Westerner Institute. 

Dr John Karani, Consultant Radiologist at Kings College Hospital presented the Ralph Wright Lecture on Day 3 and significant time was also scheduled throughout the meeting for oral free papers and poster presentations.
