HBV Casebook

Date Added: 26/09/11

Developed by an expert faculty of hepatologists and gastroenterologists (comprising Dr Graeme Alexander, Dr Mike Anderson, Dr Ashley Brown, Dr John Dillon, Prof Graham Foster and Dr Steve Ryder), the HBV Casebook programme is designed to meet the general need for training and medical education in the field of chronic hepatitis B management, in particular for gastroenterologists and junior SPRs in smaller centres, and as a brush-up for more experienced clinicians.

The programme has been approved for Distance-Learning Credits for the CPD scheme of the Federation of the Royal College of Physicians of the UK, and has been facilitated and funded by Gilead Sciences Ltd as a service to medicine.

The website features six interactive fictitious case studies that profile different aspects of chronic hepatitis B management. Each case study is presented by one of the expert faculty and features their commentary over slides, more detailed educational notes, and filmed doctor–patient consultations to bring the case study to life. Users can view the case studies at their own pace, pausing to allow consideration of the notes. The presenters pose questions during the presentation to allow users to reflect on what they would do in clinical practice.

To access the website, users need a valid GMC number or NMC PIN. To register for access, please go to http://www.hbvcasebook.net/register
