Dr Ashley Brown (Chair) Imperial

Ashley
Brown graduated from Liverpool Medical School in 1988. He completed his
postgraduate training at the Liver Unit in the Freeman Hospital,
Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and he was later awarded and MD from the University of
Newcastle for research into the pharmacogenetics of alcoholic liver disease. He
has worked as a consultant on a number of Liver Units in the UK and Australia,
and is currently Consultant Hepatologist at St Mary's and Hammersmith
hospitals, London and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College, London. His
major clinical interests include the treatment of viral hepatitis, liver
transplantation and liver
cancer.
Dr Jane Collier
Dr Jane Collier has been Consultant Hepatologist at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford since 2000. She trained in Newcastle-upon-Tyne at the transplant unit and in Toronto.
As well as carrying out research in hepatocellular carcinoma, her areas of expertise are in general hepatology, managing liver transplant follow ups, alcoholic liver disease and chronic viral hepatitis. She also runs joint speciality clinics in cystic fibrosis and HIV disease.
Dr Matthew Cramp
Dr Matthew Cramp is a Consultant Hepatologist at Derriford Hospital, an Honorary Reader with the Peninsula Medical School and Clinical Director of the Peninsula Hepatology Network. The network has been instrumental in establishing specialist liver services and has been closely involved in developing and coordinating hepatitis C treatment in the southwest region. His research interests include defining mechansims of protection from HCV infection and clinical studies in viral hepatitis.
Dr Andrew Freedman
Andrew Freedman has been Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Infectious Diseases at University Hospital of Wales since 1994, and Head of the Section of Infectious Diseases at Cardiff University Medical School since 2004. His research interests include the haematological effects of HIV infection as well as clinical studies in HIV and hepatitis C. He was a member of the DoH Expert Advisory Group on AIDS 1997-2006. He is on the Executive of the British HIV Association and is Vice-Chair of its Hepatitis working group.
Dr Robert Goldin
Rob Goldin is Reader in Liver and GI Pathology at Imperial College and Lead Clinician for Cellular Pathology at the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He has a long standing interest in the histopathology of chronic viral hepatitis and in the design of trials for their treatment.
Prof Mark Harris
Prof Will Irving
Professor Will Irving is a clinical virologist at the University of Nottingham/NUH NHS Trust. His main interest is in the clinical virology of hepatitis C virus infection. He is chair of the Trent cohort study of patients infected with HCV, established in 1992, and of the Department of Health Advisory Group on Hepatitis.

Mr Pramen Maulayah
Pramen Maulayah, RN, BSc (Hons), MBA, is an independent Nurse Consultant with more than 15 years experience of clinical nursing. He has worked in various clinical setting within the liver unit at Kings College Hospital in London between 1995 and 2007where he dedicated most of his time to viral hepatitis. Pramen has been involved in developing and improving services in acute medical setting and social care. His current work has mainly involved clinical research trials in Hepatology and Oncology. He offers a range of services to the healthcare industry. Pramen is the founder of the British Association for the Study of Liver Nurses Forum and chaired the forum between 2004 and 2010.
Dr Peter Mills
Dr Peter R Mills is Consultant Hepatologist at the Western Infirmary/Gartnavel General Hospital in Glasgow and Honorary Reader in Medicine in the University of Glasgow. He has a interest in clinical trials and the epidemiology of chronic virus hepatitis. He is currently President of the Scottish Society of Gastroenterology and Chairman of the Examining Board for the Specialist Certificate Examination in Gastroenterology.
