The BVHG aims to
improve the management and study of patients with chronic viral liver disease.
The group brings together UK hepatologists, gastroenterologists, infectious
disease physicians as well as virologists and epidemiologists with an interest
in viral diseases of the liver.
The BVHG held a
founders meeting at the 2007 BASL meeting in London, where it was agreed to set
up a steering committee and to develop committees that will develop UK
guidelines for the future management of patients with viral infections of the
liver.
